What's New?

Spring 2006

Just back from a week with Steve Peterson photographing near the AZ/UT border region. We visited some old favorites like the White Cliffs, Nipple Bench, Wire Pass and Zion N.P. New (for me) locations visited were Yellow Rock, Wahweap Hoodoos, Toroweep overlook and other remote Grand Canyon North Rim overlooks. We also went to the Coyote Buttes South Unit and the White Pocket.

Late Summer 2005

I have accepted the full-time position of Director of Audio Visual Ministries at my church here in Niceville, Florida. Many of you know that I have been involved with sound reinforcement and audio recording since my early college days. Audio, concert sound, recording and music, especially contemporary Christian music, have been a large part of my life for over 20 years, although always on a volunteer basis until now.

This is a wonderful position at a large and growing church very close to home. We have 2000+ members and four worship venues. I will be responsible for all sound systems, video projection systems, multimedia, lighting, staging and the volunteer personnel who serve in these areas.

Of course, this means I will be canceling my full-time art show schedule. The traveling that schedule requires is just not compatible with the way I'd like to live. The closest show is 5.5 hours away from home and the average show is 8-10 hours; with some requiring a drive of several days to reach. This put me away from home 4-5 days per week which is just more than I wanted to be away from my wife, her parents and our new puppy; not to mention church and friends.

Photography will go on however! My new 'boss' (who is a good friend and a collector of my photography, btw) insists that I do not stop making and selling photographs. In the future I will try to use some vacation time to attend a few of the better art shows from my previous schedule.

To all the wonderful art patrons who supported my work over the past year I offer a sincere thanks. It was wonderful meeting each of you and very gratifying to know that my images live on in your homes and offices.

I will continue to take internet orders via email, so please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the images you see on this site or ones you saw at an art show.

Summer 2004
In June I resigned my seven year IT career to pursue Fine Art Landscape Photography full time. I've decided to begin by participating in the many weekend fine art festivals held around the country. After spending most of the summer preparing the inventory and display equipment, my Fall show schedule is about to begin. View my 2005 art show schedule.

June/July 2004
My friends Kenner Bush, Steve Peterson and I photographed at Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho. I was also fortunate to make my fourth trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where I continue to find new things to photograph. I also visited Laurent Martres in California to learn some of the art show business from him.

November 2003
Spent a fantastic week with Steve Peterson in California. We photographed in Death Valley, the Owens Valley, Mono Lake and the Bodie ghost town. I also visited the Mammoth area where I found snow and forest fire smoke; very exciting!

May 2003 - Two week trip to the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Please check back for some images.

November 2002

Spent several wonderful days in Yosemite Valley and surrounding areas. Even in mid November the Fall color was still plentiful. I tried to concentrate on trees and forest details that seem to allow for a more personal interpretation rather than the often tempting mountain images. I was pleased to share this trip with my long-time photo trip companion Kenner Bush.

October 2002

Here are a few images from my recent trip to the four courners region of the Southwestern US. This trip marks the seventh straight year I have journeyed to the Colorado Plateau for photography. This special place continues to provide relaxation, inspiration, a sense of awe and wonder as well as some interesting imagery. This trip was shared with and in large part made possible by Steve Peterson, a regular photo trip companion.

July 2002

Just back from a week near Tuscon for a family vacation. While serious photography was not the focus of the trip I managed to get a day to explore the Tumacacori Mission south of Tucson with the view camera.

Below those is one new image from close to home in Florida.
